i surf. i get surfed. it's a pretty harmonious relationship.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

there was a really great diy scene here in kalamazoo and there were a number of traveller kids and bands that came through that my partner and i (in our seperate houses at the time) hosted. and out of towners every month or two otherwise. mostly everyone is real respectful and kind. i've had a bit of vomit and all but i've never regretted having a single guest.
i've WWOOFed in Georgia with a wonderful woman. a school teacher running fifty acres all to herself. i learned a bit a bout permaculture and strawbale construction, greywater systems, composting toilets,etc

Interests

i think i want to be a farmer. or a food activist. i think this is the direction my life is heading. food is important and the right kinds aren't available to enough people.
i'm also real interested in travel, dumpster diving, screen printing and music of just about all flavors, plants, dirt, social justice, i want to learn more about living with the land instead of just on it.
i'm also especially interested in a revival of old world skills that have been lost by streamlined, modern life. cooking, sewing, farming, personal food production (preserving, canning, cheesemaking etc), building/maintaining simple machinery (bicycles and the like)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen people grow, i've seen food grow. I've seen calves birthed, i've seen chickens beheaded, i've seen a man gored by a bulls horn, two rainbows at once, all kinds of weather that cannot be explained, fields of wheat of mint of four leaf clovers of dandelion puffs. community, discovery of new species.
