My name is Abhinay, and I’m 44 years old. I currently work as a Banquet Sales Manager at a reputed 5-star hotel near Mumbai International Airport.

Before stepping into hospitality, I spent nearly 10 years as a freelance wedding and event photographer, capturing countless beautiful moments. Prior to that, I was involved in event management, which has always kept me connected to people and experiences.

I’m married and a proud father of two lovely daughters, who bring immense joy to my life.

By nature, I’m fun-loving, emotional, and open-minded. I consider myself non-religious and believe more in human connections, experiences, and understanding different perspectives

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hello fellow travelers,

I’m Abhinay from Mumbai, and I’ve been a Couchsurfing member for over 15 years now. During my early years on the platform, I hosted many travelers at my home—most of them from Europe, especially Poland. Back then, I didn’t have travel plans in mind; I simply loved meeting people from different cultures and sharing experiences.

Over time, with my marriage and the birth of our children, I wasn’t able to host for almost 10 years. My wife initially wasn’t very comfortable with the idea, as she comes from a small-town background and wasn’t familiar with the Couchsurfing concept. However, things have beautifully changed now—she is also a member and has embraced the spirit of cultural exchange.

In fact, she has traveled solo to countries like Oman and Turkey, using Couchsurfing for her stays, which has been an amazing experience for her.

Currently, we’re unable to host travelers at our home, but we are working towards setting up a dedicated guest room soon. Meanwhile, both of us have developed a strong passion for exploring the world—something that wasn’t really on our wishlist earlier.

We would love to meet fellow travelers from around the world—whether it’s for a coffee, dinner, or showing you around Mumbai. If possible, we’d also be happy to host you for a meal at our home.
