About Me

ABOUT ME

I believe in #thechoemethod

I hope I am a positive in your life and hope to see a glimpse of the world you live in.To me kindness and respect can break any cultural barrier, I believe that the people you meet can improve the experience you have in a new place, traveling isn't about only sightseeing (we have Google for that!)

I am a huge film geek. Seriously, I can talk about movies all day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I got introduced into CS by my roommate and first experienced it as a host in Seoul. It was great meeting folks from around the world and just sharing the spectacular now (back then). Currently traveling the world so cannot host in Seoul. I am hoping to surf at least once in each city I visit to get a slice of "realness" that is difficult to experience as a tourist.

Interests

As cliched as it sounds my greatest interest is LIFE itself. Not only my own life but that of all of us inter-connected beings existing on this mystical planet of ours.

Also listening to what my inner kid says.

Music, Movies, and Books

If you don't listen to music I think you're missing out a big part of life. Everything from Hip hop, folk, electro, disco, reggae, pop, indie, etc. Depends on mood, setting, who I'm with. Love getting introduced to new bands and hearing someone geeking out on their favorite band/song/album.

Any movie is awesome because its a movie and you gotta respect the bad ones too because in my experience they're pretty hard to make. (that being said do yourself a favor and watch LOVE/EXPOSURE a Sion Sono 4 hour epic)
I seriously, seriously, seriously, definitely love movies and talking about them.

Used books. smelly paperbacks with the yellowish tint of old age. Coffee stains a plus. (I confess I've been using a Kindle since 2007)
Stephen King, Murakami Haruki, David Foster Wallace, Tolstoy, Hemingway, Cheever, Carver, Maupassant, John Grisham etc. I love to read anything and everything, both high and low brow.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At this point in time and space
i am alive and typing this message which will live as long as there is an internet which is sincerely amazing.

Road trip across the USA Two Lane Blacktop style with a friend.

Living/working in Kanab, UT and thus being able to visit Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyons frequently (on expense too!) while working for National Geographic.

Quitting my job, grabbing a backpack and traveling South America for almost a year.

Teach, Learn, Share

We can do yoga+meditation (I'm unqualified but still practice everyday and hope to get certified one day)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm very respectful whenever I'm at someone's house, so I'm always trying to be the coolest guest I can be, helping with whatever I can, cleaning up after myself, trying not to bother my host. Basically being an upstanding person with outstanding manners.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Ecuador, Guam, India, Japan, Laos, Latvia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Peru, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, United States, Uzbekistan, Viet Nam
