About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm Rick. I've lived in Denver for almost 2 years now after having lived in Chicago, Madison, San Francisco, and Madrid. I have my masters in social psychology and work at a non-profit doing research on opioid abuse. I love to travel abroad, but when money is short I still find ways to expand my horizons at art shows, concerts, and cultural events. I usually travel with my boyfriend.

PHILOSOPHY

Life isn't meant to be lived standing still

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't been very active for about a year now, but I'm looking to get back into it. I would like to host more here in Chicago, which I've only done once.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Ive hosted some really great people while I lived in San Francisco and Madrid. I haven't had a bad experience yet, and I've even made a few long term friends.

Interests

I spend my time...reading, going out for drinks, playing my saxophone, dining out, playing tennis, biking, going to the gym, eating cadbury eggs, and having a great time in life!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to music constantly, anything upbeat and happy does the trick. I like the Knife, Beirut, Bloc Party, Fangoria, etc. I'm reading El Palestino, a book about some crazy dude (Antonio Salas)who infiltrated an Islamic terrorist cell. It's pretty wild.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Had an entire Cenote to me and my friends in the boondocks of Mexico and then rode bikes home in the rain.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Spanish and how to shave your head with a razor.
I want to learn what makes each place unique.
I will share laughs in exchange for yours.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm happy to bring anything along you want me to! Food, books, beer, toilet paper!

Countries I’ve Visited

Belize, Canada, England, France, Guatemala, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In
