ABOUT ME

I'm a ecologist working at the university of Aberdeen modelling elephant seal behaviour. I enjoy meeting and chatting with interesting and/or fun people, trying to convince them that ale is Britain's greatest invention, and playing sport - my latest hobby is planning insane bicycle rides that I inevitably shorten when I get tired.

I also come with a free semi-extensive set of animal sex facts.

PHILOSOPHY

"Make it happen, and stop sitting on your backside" is a motto I attempt to apply to everything, although I often fail at it: I'm apparently a little lazy.

Films: Once Upon a Time in the West, Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, 2001, Finding Nemo, Pom Poko, Full Metal Jacket - no real genre preference, but I tend to like films that look pretty

Music: Punk and related stuff generally, but I do have a soft spot for the odd pop song

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching a pink boa constrictor kill then swallow a bird was possibly the coolest 2 hours of my life.

Closely followed by taking in the views from the top of Tromso's cable car up the mountain in the 3 hours of daylight they had in December.
