About Me

Hello! My name’s Bagatur and I’m a college student from the US studying abroad in London. Like any dutiful study abroad student, I feel an obligation to hop on every cheap bus/train/plane/blimp/scooter/pigeon that comes my way and explore this distant land that I now find myself in. To this end I’ve come to CS, where I hope to meet new friends, get to know new places, and, occasionally, crash on a nice, warm, worn-in couch, all on the slimmest of budgets. Few things make me as happy as getting to know new people or walking around new places. I would love to talk about anything (especially movies and football and history), and I of course always, always want to learn more about the culture/history of the places I’m visiting and hear the stories of my fellow couchsurfers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet different people, travel cheap, and explore new places in a more authentic way.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Some favorites that come to mind: the mirror, memento, one flew over the cuckoos nest, moonlight, blade runner 2049, once upon a time in the west, persona. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I even keep a list of every movie I’ve ever watched: https://www.imdb.com/user/ur70833212/ratings, and would love nothing more than to discuss/debate/gush over movies together

Books: I wish I read more frequently, but of the relatively few things I have read (mostly back in high school) I really enjoyed Cormac McCarthy’s The Road and Blood Meridian, Camus’ The Stranger, Ray Bradbury’s The Illustrated Man.

Music: alternative, jazz, rock, blues, soul, funk, oldies, classical, indie, etc etc. Currently going through a real Nina Simone phase.
