About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See the world! Meet awesome people! Have fun!

ABOUT ME

Hello! I'm a friendly Aussie guy, currently traveling around Japan on a bicycle camping trip. I've never done this kind of travel before and I am looking forward to the learning experience and meeting new people!

I enjoy outdoorsy things, camping, fishing, hiking, finding off the beaten track places, and generally having a great time whatever it is I find myself doing..
I live the daily grind as little as possible in order to get out and see the world, and my travels have taken me through Europe for about 6 months, about the same around SE Asia, and most recently around a year in North America. I have met so many great people and had so many great experiences, and I want more!

PHILOSOPHY

Treat others as you want to be treated. Less is more!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've met lots of wonderful couchsurfing folks along the road, and though my particular traveling style is usually a little impulsive/unorganised to hit up hosts for places to stay, a few particularly great experiences lately make me want to get more involved. I have no roots set down anywhere at this stage so I'm unable to host, but I'm very keen to find suitable digs and repay the debt as soon as I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only positive and humanity affirming experiences meeting and staying with CS people, I want to get more involved.

Interests

Exploring, live music, a good book/movie that makes you think, making new friends, playing sport (anything active really), getting lost in the streets of new places, new technology, cooking, eating, yoga, different cultures, laying on the beach, hiking, fishing, good beer... I'll give everything a go once!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Requiem for a Dream, American Beauty, Big Fish... anything that makes you think.

Music:
I love music, and am always looking to discover something new. I am mainly into indie, alternative, rock, ambient and electronic stuff, but can find something to like about just about anything as long as it has some heart in it!

Books:
Vonnegut, Kerouac, Heller, Orson Scott Card, Steinbeck

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Recently road tripped 70,000 km by car throughout North America without getting pulled over by the police once, somehow! Currently travelling by bicycle around Japan, had never ridden a bike for more than an hour before!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to play the ukulele! I love to learn about anything and everything. I'm pretty handy with computers, and have lots of strange travel stories to share.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam
