Hello, fellow couch-surfer around the world!

My name is Yudi. I was born and raised in small town named Yogyakarta in Indonesia. I start to love traveling when I was an exchange student in East Europe back then 2013. I have lived in Lithuania for 6 months.

Currently I already visited 26 countries across Europe (19) and Asia (7). I used to travel with my friends but lately I am solo traveler. I just did Indochina trip alone lately and somehow I kinda love it to be solo traveler. It is easier to make friends and start conversations with fellow solo traveler but I still love to travel with partners.

I just graduated from University, bachelor degree of Industrial Engineering. I really interested in everything related to art. I am freelance graphic designer. I start to paint when I was 6 and still do it sometimes now days. I also hooked so much into photography. Not kind of really professional one with DSLR camera. I just love to snap especially when I travel. You can see my works at my Instagram account @bgsyudi.

I forget to mention that I really like beach so much rather than mountain or hills. Lucky me, there are a lot soft white sandy beach here in Indonesia and my town as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The more I travel the more I understand that the best experience mostly I can get through locals recommendations who knew their state at its best. I do couchsurfing because I want to keep in touch with locals.

Also I want to get more insights about the places that I will be visited. There is no better source to get those insights or original culture except you stay with locals. I love to meet new people, make conversations and broaden my point of view about life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I basically listens all kinds of music. There is no specific genre. Lately I hooked so much with electronic dance music. I love how those music can really boost up my spirit.

I kind of person that not really catch up with up to date movies. I usually watch only the block buster one. I like adventure and science fiction movie.

I really love to read books. I also enjoy to read travel blog. My all the time favorite author is Dan Brown.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Eat strange food at some places around the world. I ate elk soup in Estonia, never thought that it was so delicious. I ate insect in Thailand such scorpion. Lastly I tried Khmer BBQ that consist several uncommon meat such as crocodile and even kangaroo meat.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach to speak Indonesian. I can teach to write traditional Javanese letter. I also so happy to teach you draw and paint and taking picture.

I really want to learn Spanish language because it will be very useful if you are traveling around Latin America. One of my ultimate dream is to travel around Latin America.

I can share my travel story and experience. I already visited 26 countries. I also eager to fill you up with Indonesian best tourism attraction information.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can make a piece of art for them like drawing picture or paint or stuff like that.
I can make a portraits of them. I learn to cook Indonesian traditional food anyway but it little bit tricky cause it use a lot of specific ingredients that can only be found here. I try my best.
