ABOUT ME

Before we get into the introductions...things have changed a bit. I, Allison, am currently living in Madrid, Spain. I unfortunatly do not have any couches available. (very small apt. i actually take turns sleeping on the floor) but Heather is in Lawrence, KS a great city super fun and super full of college. as in college bars, parties, sporting events and overall atmosphere of a town dedicated to its university. She does have couches available. ok so onto the introductions...

Allison (a.k.a. Al or Kappy) is pretty much always accompanied by Heather (a.k.a. eeeh she has nothing maybe heather is just that cool. H. i guess you can call her H. i do). We are architecture students,(allison just graduated in May so she is a bit cooler.) almost done, YEAH, so we know how to live without sunlight for days on end and can sleep in pretty much any situation or position, as in chin-nodded in front of a computer, under a desk on a concrete floor, in a hammock, laying across 3 rolling chairs at differing heights, the grass on warm days, you name it its fine!!
nextly we really like fun people. this has just come to our immediate attention but has always been secretly known. its true.
we are game for EVERYthing, we dont like being tourists so if we have to look something up it is in a secret location that you nor anyone else can know about. so moving on from that....we like finding the local spots and hidden places of a city compared to the overpopulated tourist attractions. we like climbing fences, puddle jumping and quirky situations.
Al loves harry potter- heather makes fun of her.
heather calls reeses ree-see-s. not sure if that makes sense in written form but it is not the correct pronunciation at all-al makes fun of her.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I were priveleged to stay with some super sweet dudes in Barcelona. Oh I guess we tell you that story in the next box. we also had a kid passing through KS stay with us for a few days. We picked him up from the highway, showed him around. Pointed him to some cool sites and then dropped him off a bit further on. All in all a good time was had by all. This CS Project I shall be looking into. it seems swell.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

we stayed with a lovely dude in Barcelona and it was amazing. We saw some local pubs, we went to the beach. I mean it was just great. never would have met such splendid people otherwise. We relish the next time we get to be involved and can't wait for someone to come to Kansas and hang out with us.

Interests

sleddding-dancing-pirates-mustache tatoos-caves-ugly things-food of all kinds especially something i have never tried before and the kinds you make up when you have no food in your house and you have to improvise-ice cream-traveling but dont we all-trees-night games-KU winning the national championship in basketball and the mass party on Mass. st when 40000 people were allowed to drink in the streets and do whatever they pleased while the cops forced you to give them high fives-sweatpants-frisbee-climbing on the roof-jumping on the trampoline-bonfires in the backyard-grilling-swimming in subzero temperatures-making plaster molds of myself and getting stuck in the mold in a pushup position-smoking flavored cigars on the porch-COJA nights(in translation:lame wobbly person nights)-screaming due to joy, puddle jumping, picnics, dinosaurs, CHRISTMAS, pretending I understand super fast Spanish, sewing, making green sparks in my allergy resistant comforter, playing farkle, making finger puppets. doing arts and crafts with little kids cuz then i get to do arts and crafts and little kids are so funny. then i get an excuse to act like them and no one thinks twice about it.

Music, Movies, and Books

harry potter, apparently Lord of the Rings for we had a marathon and watched all, x2, over the last 3 days inbetween celebrations of KU!! Pumpkin is the worst movie of all time.
MIKA for music. MOe. anything danceable at a time in need of dance, anything mello when working at school. sometimes Wilson Phillips-"Hold On" is a great song. You have to love The Beatles and Meatloaf and Paul Simon and Journey and "josie's on a vacation far away" uh and Lily Allen, 30h!3 old school rap, 80's wins all. wedding reception music

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

stood 10 feet from a wild giraffe in Uganda. Then tried to get closer to fake jump on his back and instead I just chased him!

showered everyday in a river then slid down the waterfalls, and cliff jumped and washed my hair in the fall in Nicaragua!

Teach, Learn, Share

allison-
I took an outdoor adventure class in high school where all we did was play outside and learn survival skills. I made snowshoes that I used in the Boundary Waters, northern Minnesotan Border near Canada, (a place where no motorized vehicles are allowed and when you leave no one should ever know you were there).I can teach some wicked dance moves. I know a lot of games, and how to sew. I can also teach you how to do a velocaraptor impersonation. like spot on no jokes.
I'd love to learn how to sing. I also wouldnt mind learning how to play the digerido a bit better. I have played before but it was rather difficult.
