Overview
About Me
Hey! My name is Bailey, I am currently staying in Mannheim, Germany as part of a semester abroad. I love to discover new cultures, try new food and meet new people. I have been wanting to try Couchsurfing for a while now (I made this profile in 2016 but have not yet used it), but now is the perfect time living on my own and travelling solo. I love sport and have tried almost every sport that has been available in Australia, but my passion lies with Australian Rules Football (this is not rugby!). Music is another large part of my life, I play a bit of piano but not as much as I'd like, and I will take every opportunity to have something playing during everything I do. And if you know good coffee shops to chill in you will be my favourite person ever.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I first heard about Couchsurfing from my cousin who used it for a number of years during their travels. They sounded like they had the best time with the people they met and learned so much about so many different cultures. I am fascinated by the different ways that people live and would love the opportunity to experience it myself. The reason I decided to study for a semester in Europe, rather than just come for a holiday, was so I could experience a different way of life, and couchsurfing is the perfect way to enhance this experience.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love music! I listen to almost anything and could go on forever about all the artists I listen to, but the most played on my Spotify is usually Australian indie rock bands such as Gang of Youths, The Jungle Giants, Polish Club and Ball Park Music.
I don't watch as many movies as I used to thanks in part to Netflix, but some of my favourites include Ex Machina, Whiplash, Birdman, and Good Will Hunting.
The last book I read was The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, I am always looking for new recommendations.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think the most amazing thing I've done so far was taking my first trip to Cambodia. Just booking that ticket and leaving Australia for the first time and travelling solo for the first time was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I am hoping through Couchsurfing and my future travels to create some more unique and personal experiences.

What do I want to learn?
How other people around the world live. I would also love to continue to improve my ability to speak German.
