About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To pursue a successful career in music - teaching and performing.
ABOUT ME
I am now 28 years old and have lived in one place for longer than six months for the first time since I graduated college. I landed in Durango, Colorado to take on an elementary school music teaching job and fell in love with the scenery, the culture, and the people. I found myself settled down after 7 years of traveling all over the world. Most of my time traveling I was transient and flitting all over the world, for work and pleasure. After so many years of living out of a suitcase and living rent-free I decided it was time for me to begin to really pursue my passion of music and teaching, and to come home. So, I applied for teaching jobs all over Colorado and was fatefully placed in Durango. I came here, and found love, family, adventure and a rooted down calmness that I don't think I have ever felt. I love it here, but I am still feeling the itch to travel and discover. My plan is to pursue a career in singing, which I hope will take me all over the world.
PHILOSOPHY
"I don't follow any religious dogma but I strive to live my life by the Golden Rule:
Treat others the way you want to be treated. Put all the positive energy into the world that you expect to come back to you.
I'm in a perpetual state of exploring who I am and what I believe; I feel like I am constantly reinventing or adding to my "personal philosophy." This is why I love to travel and teach and plan to spend my entire life doing both, so I can keep learning all the time." - Bailey, circa age 23
I loved reading this and realizing that, although I feel I have transformed in huge ways since I was traveling, my life philosophy is essentially the same. I believe that my experience is based on love and that if I trust in that love I will be happy and successful. However, I am always questioning and dissecting the thoughts and beliefs I have about myself and the world so stay tuned...

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: there isn't much that I don't like, and I obviously have my favorites but those are too numerous to mention. I have spent most of my singing career studying classical technique, so I have a passion for opera and art song. When I moved to Durango I started dating a jazz musician and through his incredible knowledge I have gained a new appreciation for jazz, latin and funk styles. I sing and play folk, pop, and rock on my ukulele. I love dancing to Latin American styles, salsa, bachata, folklorico, samba. Some of the musicians who inspire me are Diana Damrau, Natalie Dessay, Adele, Alison Krauss, Aoife O'Donovan, Sarah Jarozs, Alicia Keys, Violeta Parra, Paul Simon, Gretchen Parlato, Esperanza Spalding among so so many others. I love to see live music, especially if it is a band I have never heard of.
Movies: My movie tastes change - I love movies that are light hearted, informative, movies that inspire me to pursue my passion in life.
Books: I love a good story and something that I can learn from. Favorites: Ishmael, The Lovely Bones, Confederacy of Dunces, The Education of Little Tree, The Tao of Pooh, The Celestine Prophecy, Love Poems from God, The Gift
I love to hear suggestions in all of these categories so send me what you have!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Performed Bizet's Carmen in a chateau in Versailles France
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: Embrace diversity, and drowned yourself in it so you can rid yourself of prejudice. Learn from every situation you ever face, good or bad. The only way to forgive is to forget. Love people, and meet people where they are at. There is no such thing as "normal."
Believe that you deserve to achieve your dreams. Allow good things to flow to you.
Compartir.Share.
Learn: How to follow my own advice. How to make my dreams come true. Figure out exactly what my dreams are. How to accept and love myself for who I am. How to reach and effectively teach every student that I ever meet. How to be the smile in people's lives. How to find the good in all the people in my life and learn from them. How to leave a legacy.
There are way too many things I want/need to learn for them all to be listed....
