About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To get out of my comfort zone and learn new perspectives
ABOUT ME
Two of my favorite things are warm smiles and benevolence to strangers. My goal is to travel the world before graduate school, not to sightsee famous landmarks, but to sightsee the wonderful people and unique cultures that the world has to offer, and also the breath-taking views of nature.
PHILOSOPHY
Landmarks are for google image searches. Interacting with locals provides more depth than an instagram photo.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting and surfing!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Traveling in Madrid, Spain was my first wonderful experience. I surfed on a couch. My host showed me the lovely sites of the city that most tourists would not think to see. The cultural experience provided through Couchsurfing is much greater than that of a commercialized hotel. I've also hosted numerous times.
Interests
Things I do in my spare time: Attempt to read, but then fall asleep in 10 minutes. I talk to my plants. I enjoy playing old hits (Wagon Wheel anyone?) on my ukulele. My signature move is bringing running sneakers with me wherever I go, but then drinking coffee instead of a going for a morning run. But I do actually love running.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I haven't done this yet, but this upcoming summer will mark the start of a year's worth of traveling throughout the US, with camping and couchsurfing as my only means of lodging.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am knowledgeable in nerdy biology things, such as the inner workings of the cells that organisms are constructed of. I won't shove veganism down your throat, but I can make you food that you will want to shove down your throat.
Countries I’ve Visited
Costa Rica, Guyana, Portugal
