About Me

ABOUT ME

I am a California girl traveling the world. I am currently in Madrid, Spain playing water polo but will move to Italy in the next month or two to join another team. I finished College about a year ago with a degree in mathematics. I decided to take some time off and travel while I'm young and follow my dreams. I am just taking life day by day. I love to go to the beach, snowboard, see new places, and most of all, meet new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been to several meet ups with couch surfers when I already had a place to stay but wanted to meet new people in whatever country I was in. Two years ago I joined couch surfing because I was studying abroad in Turkey and wanted to travel as much as I could, but I did not have the funds. I got introduced to couch surfing from friends and have had the amazing opportunity to learn about what couch surfing is and how it works. Its such an incredible and different way to travel and see new places from a different point of view.

Interests

Like most people on here, I got the travel bug a few years ago. Not only to see the world but to encounter different people and learn about new cultures. I always try to be the most openminded I can be, which makes learning easy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I used to play a division 1 sport, which I loved for a few years but decided after a while that my career was coming to an end. The day I quit, I walked into the study abroad office and said I need to go somewhere. The advisor looked at me and said "okay well with your major you can go to Turkey, ---" I cut him off at that and said "Perfect, when can I go?" 3 months later I found myself in one of the most incredible places I could have ever imagined, alone and eager to know about the culture and people who lived there. This was one of the best experiences of my life.
