About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I've been traveling since 2009 and the general agenda is to spend as little time in Mumbai as possible! I'm currently traveling in Nepal and would probably spend the next couple of months here, poking around its villages and towns and trails and the mountains.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because it's a refreshing change from staying in places "recommended on the Lonely Planet" and and a great opportunity to mingle and talk with people who actually live in a place and would tell you about the life there more authentically and selflessly than that hotel owner or receptionist. Also, FUN!

Interests

Going places, hanging out in coffee shops, meeting strange and weird people (and sometimes normal people too, though I'd prefer the former), watching and pointlessly analysing obscure films that no one would have heard of or would care to watch, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Bob Dylan, Talking Heads, reading just about anything under the sun.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walked from Hankar to Shang Sumdo on the Markha Valley trek in Ladakh in the off-season in May, a stretch that usually takes 3 days, in one day, all alone for 16 hours, wading through waist deep snow, sliding through an 80 degree slope from the top of the pass 300 meters down to the valley below, almost slipping down waterfalls and ravines while following the river, losing my way 8 times, remembering stories of a Dutch trekker who got lost on the same route 2 years before me and whose mangled corpse was found in a hidden side valley, cursing myself all the time for doing what I did and then with adrenalin flowing at the first sight of civilization, running the final 6 kms to the village of Shang Sumdo, exhilarated at having made it alive. I ate momos and recounted the tale of my journey to the wonderful family that hosted me, they not getting what the big deal was. But it was an awesome experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a better learner than a teacher and there isn't one thing in the world I wouldn't want to learn about.

You can steal books and movies off me!
