Current mission: hitchiking from Budapest to Singapore or maybe to Australia

I'm Bálint, born and raised in Budapest, Hungary. I moved to Dublin in 2023 when I started studying Aviation Management at Dublin City University.

As I grew up, I visited many places both in Hungary and in the neighbouring countries, fell in love with remote places and spontaneous trips. I discovered the beauty of travelling solo during and mostly after the Covid-19 pandemic. I love getting to know other, different people, their lifestyles, and mindset. I'm looking forward to getting to know you and having a great time!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My favourite part of travelling is to see different people, habits and culture. My best memories are from interacting with locals. However, I always did this in an unorganised, random way. (Always met nice people while beeing on the road.)

I was travelling through Mauritania solo in January 2024 when I met a couchsurfing host while walking on the street. I stayed at his place for 2 nights, got to know his other guests, and we had an amazing time. That's how I discovered couchsurfing.

I'm on couchsurfing to meet and learn from different people, get to know them, have fun, listen to personal stories, and share some of mine as well. Hotels are all the same everywhere, and the heart of the world is people. I would also love to show my hometown to as many people as possible, both the touristy and the hidden places.

Interests

I love getting to know new people and learn from them, see how colorful our world is and to understand different mindsets and culture.

Besides travelling, I'm interested in aviation. I fly gliders in Hungary (however, travelling took a lot of my time from this activity away last year), keen on seeing, photographing or flying on rare or interesting aircraft types.

I'm up for a game of football (soccer) anytime, I also like to watch the game. I'm always into any spontaneous ideas, taking a ride into the sunset, or a hike above the clouds...

Music, Movies, and Books

Music has many different types, and I love exploring them. I'm open to anything new. Generally, I listen to 70s up to nowadays rock, pop, alternate/progressive rock, or anything that comes up!

Used to watch very different kinds of movies, almost anything apart from fantasy. I really appreciate any recommendations, and I happily recommend as well!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Staying with locals while travelling through Zimbabwe and living with them, in places where some of the people never seen a white person before.
