About Me

ABOUT ME

I am a geology student at Vanderbilt University. I love rocks and earth processes! I also love the outdoors and anything even mildly adventurous! I am really in to trying new foods and anything associated with new cultures. I was a religious studies major for a while with a particular focus on Buddhism. I really love talking about both everyday things and large life questions. I am highly inquisitive but very laid back and love to meet new people and experience new things!

Interests

I am very absorbed in my studies and spend a lot of my time doing geological research and learning about earth processes. In my spare time though, I love going to live shows. I also am an acrylic painter and an avid knitter of scarfs! I particularly like crossword puzzles and math puzzles (like KenKen and Sudoku). I also love reading, and my favorite authors are Vonnegut and Palahniuk. Whenever I can though, I love getting to go home to Memphis and spend time being an absolute goober with my little sister, Jessica!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting to hike into the cloud forest in Puerto Rico was absolutely breathtaking. Not being able to see anything even a few feet in front of you but absolute whiteness was both beautiful and terrifying. I learned a lot more about myself than I expected during that two-day hike and had a much different perspective walking down that mountain than I did walking up it.

Another one of my favorite memories is actually just a conversation I had with my sister. We talked about our life up to this point and our hopes for the future. I found her outlook on life to be truly beautiful and her aspirations to be inspiring. The fact that she attributed a lot of her good memories to me made me feel fuller and happier than anything else, and I gained a lot of strength and drive into wanting to continue to set a good example for her and show her how truly beautiful the world is if you're not afraid to try things out.
