ABOUT ME

My name is Lori Beth.

I am one of those miserable, chipper little types. Equal parts party animal and homebody, I am happy just about anywhere with just about anything, as I like to find the beauty in everyone.

I host the Steel City Slam (twice/month) and bout manage the Young Steel Slam (quarterly). These are the only registered Slam poetry events in Pittsburgh. I love literature and spoken word arts, and I covet the ability to write passionately. My audience finds me amusing.

I am a huge football fan. If I am able to host you on weekends in the fall, you will have to either listen to me yell at the TV or sit out in the office.

I work hard, at work and at home, and I play harder. I have a M-F 9-5, then I bartend on Monday nights for live jazz at AVA in North Oakland, and I work either Tuesday or Wednesday evening for a high-end realtor. Because of this, I am not always available to "show you around." I can give good recommendations for food, drink, sports, and shows, but I can't always come along.

I do not have international calling or texting on my smarty-phone.

I am a weekend warrior, DIY-type. I spend a lot of time and energy messing about my house, painting, remodeling, gardening, making a mess. I don't do a lot of going out for the sake of going out, but I do try to keep an eye on fun things and events while I am hosting, so that even if I can't accompany you, perhaps I can make a recommendation.
