Hi! I'm Tom, 24 years old, and currently based around Leeds & Manchester, UK.

I'm a musician, and songwriter. I love travelling, meeting new people, and exploring other cultures. I have an adventurous spirit, and I'm eager to see new places & learn new skills. I'm curious, open-minded, and willing to try anything! I love vegetarian-vegan food, enjoy cooking, collecting records, and going to gigs.

The places I'd like to visit most are the countries I've not yet visited - that includes Russia, most of Africa, the Middle East, etc. I want to experience these different cultures for myself, and meet good people in the world, because I know there will always be amazing, beautiful, and kind people wherever I go!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I couchsurf when I travel to meet & learn about local people from across the globe. I've hosted people in my home in Leeds, mainly for touring musicians and bands. It's a great way to make lifelong friends, and meet incredible & interesting people. I've learnt so much, and I feel like I'm a more rounded person because of Couchsurfing.

Interests

I like to be politically active, and my views are generally left-leaning/progressive - but I'm also open to conversations with anyone. Whatever your views, I'd prefer to listen, rather than argue about them. I keep an open mind, and I think it's important to understand the viewpoints of others, rather than shutting them down. I believe that's how we can strengthen and change our own opinions for the better. I believe firmly in compassion and kindness.
