Music is my passion, in particular Irish trad, but I also am interested in all other types and all other musicians

ABOUT ME

Irish trad, Bluegrass, Old-Time, Reggae, some Bossa Nova, Afropop, trad music froom anywhere, even Scotland, Blues, jazz, etc... Fiddle, Banjo, Flute, Concertina, Guitar, Mandolin and currently having a go at harp and piano. Music is central to my life and I enjoy reaching out to musicians from other genres

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent most of the 80's busking around Western Europe and spent many a night on a friendly couch. Camping on rooftops in Spain, Sleeping under a canopy in a Grecian garden for two months (it never rained!). Getting addicted to British soap operas in Bristol whilst recovering from pnuemonia. A wonderful Swedish couple who rescued me from blood poisoning (don't ever hitchhike with red socks!). Taken in by Dutch college students after a dangerous encounter with a leaky gas stove. I have loads of karma to give and to repay.

Musicians can all learn form others and I wish more were willing to share knowledge openly and freely (as in not for money). I realize teaching is the bread and butter for musicians but sometimes the best advice is short and sweet. Critique is a valuable gift to give or receive, always helpful unless it is said with spite.
