About Me

CURRENT MISSION

It's now or never...

ABOUT ME

About me... huh, a difficult thing to talk about oneself when one's asked to. I'll say that the moments I like best is being in a bar with some friends talking and laughing. I also appreciate being on my couch reading a book with a beer or a tea. And something I like too is cheeeeese (it wasn't to make you smile... well, yes, but I really like cheese xD).
For the rest, I'm friendly and sometimes a little crazy but you'll get used to this :)

PHILOSOPHY

Knowledge has no limits but those we set on it. People is in this world for an average of only 80 years, and I think that we should profit this short life-period trying to increase our knowledge of this world.
I also think that we are rational beings, but that shouldn't stop us from showing and sharing our feelings.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By now I participate meeting people in my town, but I've always been hosted at hostels when I travelled. That's great because you meet people from everywhere, but not from the city or the country you are visiting. That's because I created a CS profile, now I wanna travel in another way, meeting the locals, and knowing the city from a local's point of view.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

By now, I only meet some CS people in my current town, Valenciennes. We always go to a bar on thursdays to talk and have fun, and I find that they're really nice people. I also took up CS again because I met these people and I found they did an interesting thing hosting people, Raquel was the one whose experience inspired me the most (thx!!)

Interests

I'm really interested in languages. I love learning them and I enjoy it. That's another way of travelling, and it inspires you to do a real travel.
Travelling is another thing that I'm interested in, I really like to discover other cultures, and also the history of the place you're visiting.
Another thing I'm interested in is History. I really like history, it helps us to understand how a country is and why. And of course, litterature, specially medieval one.

Music, Movies, and Books

El ingenioso hidalgo Don Quixote de la Mancha, La vida de Lazarillo de Tomes y de sus fortunas y adversidades, The Lord of the Rings and all its saga, fantastic literature, folk literature, gothic novel, Harry Potter, A Song of Ice and Fire, and medieval literature in general.
Related to movies, I like classic cinema, Star Wars trilogy, the Godfather trilogy, horror films (REAL horror, not gore) japanese ones are always my favourite from this genre.
For music, I like folk metal, classic rock, music from the 80s, and celtic music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

St Patrick day in Grenoble, dancing by night on the (dry) fountain in Place Notre Dame with some (drunk) friends while other friends were playing celtic music below us.
Ortigueira festival in Galicia.
Talking during all night at Dublin airport with a latvian guy who didn't speak english, nor french, nor spanish, nor german, nor italian, communicating between us by a few words in english and in german and body gesture.
Super 8 videos by Elvira xD
Partying in Venezia a friday night.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think I'm open-minded. I'll be glad to teach people all that I know and I'd like to learn all that people want to share with me.
Things I can teach... well, I can teach spanish and french as languages. I think I my cooking abilities are acceptable, so I can make a big tortilla, and papas bravas too. For a paella... well, I'll have to ask my mother to make sure I'm doing well xD. I know how to sew too. I can share my notions in history and litterature.
Things to learn... well, I must improve my spoken english, and I need to take lessons of german and italian (thx Marco ;) I'd like to learn how to play the guitar or any other musical instrument. I'd like to learn how to make dreadlocks too, it could be interesting!!
