Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I. Home sweet home

My hometown is Hong Ngu City, Dong Thap Province, Mekong Delta Region of Southern Vietnam.
Distance from my house to: Tram Chim National Park: 38Km, Chau Doc: 27Km, Sa Dec City: 90km, Phnom Penh Capital: 102km (Cambodia), Ho Chi Minh City: 140km, Can Tho: 140Km. All have direct or connecting buses.
Bordering international border gates: Thuong Phuoc International Border Gate (15Km), Vinh Xuong International Border Gate (18Km), Dinh Ba International Border Gate (28Km) Vinh Xuong. You can go to Cambodia through these border gates. My friend aldeady travel to Combodia in this way.

II. Places to visit around the area where I live

- Long Khanh Island (1km form my home): This is a small island located in the middle of the huge Tien River. Typical life of the people of the Southwest region, with high stilt houses, weaving villages and local beaches. You can also enjoy specialties such as dried fish living in the Tien River and cakes
- Vietnam - Cambodia border (5km - 28km around my hometown): If you have time, drive along the border. Or go straight to the border markers for visitors
- Chau Doc (28km form my home): This place is the religious tourism center of the Western Region with over 20 large and small Pagoda, besides there is also a Cham Muslim village (as shown in the photo album)
- Watch the sunset at the beginning of the Tien River flowing into Vietnam (19km form my home). The place where the Tien River begins to flow into Vietnam.
- Drive around the area I live in to see how the people live here, what their houses are like and enjoy street food

III. How to get to my house.

From Ho Chi Minh City, there are direct buses to my house: bus companies such as Phuong Trang, Hung Cuong, Quang Ty, etc. We recommend that you take these 3 companies because the bus companies are large and reputable. For foreigners, you should take Phuong Trang bus because you can book directly via the website (https://futabus.vn/).
From cities like Can Tho, Vinh Long,... Western provinces, there are buses to my house, but in some places you need to take a connecting bus. If you needed anythings else, contact me throught facebook, couchsufing.

IV. How to stay?

Because I have been using Couchsufing for more than 10 years, the number of hosting guests is very large. Currently, the local government thinks my place is a homestay. So every time a foreign guest comes, I have to register and they ask me to pay tax. However, this hosting is completely free, I do not make any profit from guest hosting. So I definitely will not register to open a Homestay and pay taxes.
For that reason:
Some of you stay with our family for a short time: You can stay without registration.
Some of you stay with our family for a long time: Then we have to register. Or help you find a nearby motel at the lowest cost (Sorry for the inconvenience). However, you can come to my house all day, eat, sleep, cook, like at home, I am very welcome. (Cost is about 80,000 - 150,000 VND)

V. Activities that need your help or sharing

This activity is for volunteer purposes only
I need you to communicate with the children in my neighborhood. (Because the area I live in has very few foreign tourists, almost none, so the children are very hesitant to communicate with foreigners. Let's help the children become more confident and love English more. The children will be proud. because I have a foreign friend)
I need you, if possible, to spend time with me to share and help poor people living in rural areas. We will go to each house to give them gifts - It doesn't take much, even just one will help and bring joy to those poor people. A gift is anything you can give them. (clothes, rice, cooking oil, sugar,...)

What can help you?
Anything I can do to help please contact me throught FACEBOOK massager, couchsufing
