About Me

Bonjour everyone!

I'm Baptiste from France. I am 24 years old right now, but I might be older by a year or two if I neglect to keep my profile updated ahah :)

I have no job, no wife, no pet, and no loan, for I made the choice to dedicate my life fully to travel. This is more than just a dream to see the world and come back home afterwards. What I want is to change it and make it better.

Before my ongoing adventure, I have taken different trips already. I traveled across Europe with a friend last year, we have hitchhiked more than 15 000 kms without spending a single coin, and I made the tour of France the year before the Europe Tour. I also tried bikepacking a few years ago in the south-west of France, and I experienced both woofing and workaway during those trips.

As I said above, I travel in a strange but very lively way. Traveling without money should not be seen as stingy. On my side, I do it not because I don't have any money but because the voyage isn't the same whether you travel with or without money. I have experienced both, and I was taken aback, for I have lived the best moments of my life on the road with my thumb up. If you have the opportunity someday to hit the road like I do, I'm sure it will change your life forever.

You may wonder how it is possible to get by without money, and I would love to share it with you if we have the chance to meet each other.

By the way, I'm keen to share many things with you, such as cooking typical meals from our origin countries, teaching my language, telling about my trips, and, of course, giving you a hand.

I hope to get to know you throughout my trip, and if not, I would be pleased to host you wherever I end up after traveling the world.

Thank you for your time. Bye.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling in my opinion is more than just visiting a country, and the real adventure is the one you have between you and your destination. It is evident that Couchsurfing make my trip much cheaper than it would be if I had to book hotel and I'm not gonna lie, I'm glad to spare money like this. However, I believe CS is more than just a way to travel cheap and for me, I see a way to get to know a country or a culture by its inhabitants instead of making my way as a tourist. Plus, I like being honest and although I love my dear tent, sometimes, having a shower, cooking in a decent kitchen, make acquaintance and a real bed or couch is more than necessary and here comes the amazing couchsurfers hosts to who i will be forever grateful for what they do.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not difficult when it comes to music and I can listen to almost everything. Generally, it works by periods for me in which I will listen to different styles all along the year. But if you want to make me happy, play any Avicii songs and that'll work out.

About reading, I mostly read books related to traveling or exploration, even though I love reading novels such as Lord of the Rings or the Harry Potter Saga. Besides, it's been a efficient way to improve my english as those books are easy for beginner.

Why isn't videogames mentionned Couchsurfing manager huh ? ;)

I don't care if I sound geek but videogames is part of my life and it's such a pity that i cannot bring my computer with me on my trip. Back home, I like playing Minecraft, Counter Strike (luckily, I had the chance to give a try to CS2 before leaving), Vintage Story, Green Hell, Pokémon and etc.

Finally, if I should count how many hours I've passed watching movies/series/anime/youtube, it would hurt me, especially youtube. No joke, I can spend a full day on Youtube losing myself and endinp up watching some content completely different from what I initially watched at first. But basically, I can watch everything as well, from fantasy to horror, plus sci-fi or cartoon but again, if you want to make me comfortable, propose me to watch One Piece, which has been a source of inspiration to my trips and it keeps on going to influante my daily life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've ever done is make the first step out of my home.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some french, show you french recipes, telling you about my trips and give you some tips if you ever want to travel the way I do. I'm also here to help you around your place if you need something done but you don't feel up doing it. I'm not bad with computing so ask me if you struggle with something.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Travelling on my own, especially with no money, has taught me many lessons about life which I find interesting to communicate. Well, i'm not a wise man nor an philosoph but still, I can say that wandering around Europe has made me growing up faster and now I'm bound to handover what I learnt from my mistakes and from myself.

In addition, I can be a good adviser if you wish to plan a trip, list what you really need depending on when you begin and where you go. I can even show you every piece of my equipement and show you how to pack correctly a backpack.
