Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Building a balanced life in Wellington.
ABOUT ME
Grew up in South France, surrounded by books and woods.
In 2010, I went on my first big adventure: a year-long student exchange in Canada.
It was life-changing:I learned English, developed confidence and caught a bad case of wanderlust.
Since then, I've been traveling, meeting remarkable people, reading even more, making some mistakes, learning about fascinating things, laughing a lot, marveling at life and growing a tad.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm currently gathering insights, experimenting and pondering. It's a slow process. :)
Balance and growth are my two guiding principles so far.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By taking part in local CS events and even organizing some!
I finally have my own place and other couchsurfer roommates, so I'd also love to host some surfers in Montréal this year!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Being hosted by numerous people while backpacking in Europe this summer was truly an amazing experience.
Most recently, bringing together a team of couchsurfers for Impossible Montréal (a crazy three-day long scavenger hunt) was also a lot of fun.
Most times I've come across a couchsurfer, it's been a pleasure to meet someone like-minded, yet different, and to trade travel stories and worldviews. To many more!
Interests
I'm interested in a whole slew of odd things ranging from languages to comparative education, personal development, psychology as a whole, ludicrous metaphysical theories devised after the third beer, awesome quotes, philosophy, parkour, student exchange, aboriginal culture, writing, lifestyle design, children literature, blogging, travelling, circus, fantasy literature, board games, the outdoors...the list could go on and on!

Music, Movies, and Books
Five of each, not my top 5, just a good sample.
Music: Two Door Cinema Club, NONONO, Kings of Convenience, Madeon, Paolo Nutini.
Movies: The Grand Budapest Hotel, les Poupées Russes, Full Metal Jacket, The Waking Life, Mission Cleopatre.
Books: Cyrano de Bergerac, Ellana, The Storytelling Animal, Vango, la Horde du Contrevent.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have been lucky enough to live many memorable moments and to see some astonishing sights.
A few stand out: giant turtles I saw walking around in Seychelles islands, the Canadian wilderness on a canoe trip, the Abu Simbel colossi, the Great wall of China, the Irish seaside...and yet my most cherished memories always involve remarkable people.
In a dusty cabin somewhere in Ontario,a dozen of students were sitting in a circle, talking about very mundane things. But five of them were from Japan, three were from Germany, one was from Mexico, one from Switzerland, one from Brasil, one from Norway, one from France and one from New Zealand. They all came from different continents, spoke drastically different languages and had totally variant and sometimes conflicting worldviews, yet they could all, however imperfectly, share their feelings and ideas through English.
I was one of them and such moments are the very reason why I learn languages, meet new people and travel the world.
Teach, Learn, Share
As a former language tutor, I love to teach French and the basics of Spanish and English. But if you're reading this, you probably don't need the latter. ;)
I'm also passionate about Psychology, which is convenient since I study it, and I tend to over-share that passion sometimes. But if that's something you're interested in, just say the word and soon enough you'll know everything I can teach you about cognitive dissonance, intercultural psychology, social development in children, theories of learn...damn, did it again.
