About Me

I moved to Budapest three years ago, working as an assistant at a Chinese Hungarian investment advisor company, doing some translating, helping work for Chinese new immigrant families. I lived in China for almost 8 years, where I worked as a maths/ English/ linguistics teacher. I am trying to explore Budapest in my free time, I feel a little like a Martian myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I lived in China for almost eight years, where I met so many amazing people during my travels, so I would like to feel like a traveler again here in my home country via couchsurfing.

I might be able to offer a couch for you, since I have two rooms, but I am working in a small town close to Budapest during weekdays, so I can only host between Friday late afternoon and Monday very early morning or Friday evening, since I have to leave for my workplace.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once hitchiked a truck in Tianshan mountains, and found myself in the middle of a mountain horserace which only happpens once a year, made Hungarian cottage cheese in Urumqi, taught Moldvan folk-dancing to Chinese locals on Shihezi Century Square, hitchiked on the longest bridge of Asia (Qingdao), photographed local sheep herders at 3600 meters, crossed Tianshan via hitchiking on a dirt road, went on a horseriding trip to Transsylvania, left teaching after 13 years
