About Me

Holà !
Soy Barbara, soy francés y estoy viajando sola en Colombia por 6 semanas !

Tengo 27 años, y vivo a Paris con amigas y amigos hermosos. I am a curator working on exhibitions, especially ones for kids.

I love to eat comforting food, to travel wherever I can, to read and to go to museums ! I love every kind of art, especially painting, music and cinema.
I used to work with kids, I love to create and have fun with them ! 🌈

I am in the middle of my trip, I have been to Guaviare, Satander and in a finca in Boyaca. I really love Colombia so far and I'm excited to see more !

I speak English fluently, Italian pretty good and I can speak some Spanish ! If you speak slow I will definitely understand you and respond with some time to form my sentences 🙃

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to be able to travel even if I am a young worker who doesn't have a lot of money, because I don't want to wait before I discover the rest of the world !
I also want to share and spend good times with people in their cities, because for me it gives you a way more authentic experience 🙂

Music, Movies, and Books

I love The Doors, First Aid Kit, Sufjan Stevens, Renaud, and generally folk music and rock from the 60s and 70s, as well as French pop music.

My favourite directors are Wes Anderson, Hayao Miyazaki, Martin Scorsese and Jacques Demy ! I like french cinema, japanese animation and a lot of movies from the 70s/80s.

I love Haruki Murakami, Simone de Beauvoir (I read her autobiography and novels), Ian Kalman Stefansson, Ursula Le Guin, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Isabel Allende... I love to read in general, I'm always reading a book ! I also like theorical books about feminism and left-wing politics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to the US when I was 15 and 16 to be an au pair in a family. It was pretty amazing ! I got along great with the family and it was a very good experience.

I ziplined in the Amazon forest and hiked in a canyon in Perù

Teach, Learn, Share

Food is life.
I want to learn all the languages (ALL OF THEM).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a good knowledge of art history and french literature, so I can share theories if you have any interest. I can also share fun travel stories.
I love to cook (and eat) so I can help cook something amazing ! I like to hear other people's stories, so I can lend an ear !
I like to sing but I don't know if you want that to be shared...
I'm also pretty good at origami, so I can teach you a few things !!
And with me you cab practice French and Italian.
