About Me

I'm Barbara, Babi, Barbs, Barbi, as you prefer :)
I'm a 25 years old Italian girl and I'm a traveller since I was a kid, thank to my family.
Exploring all over the world is definitely one of my main goal on my bucket list.
I love visiting new countries and discover local cultures, traditions, and listening to people's stories.
I think travelling is the best way to make new friends and to understand what's going on out of your small life-bubble.
I'm friendly, outgoing, eager to know something more about different cultures, so I'm looking forward to meet you guys!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

World is definitely waiting for us to explore it! So..why don't we help each other to achieve it?
As long as I'll have a couch in my flat, I'll always be happy to host travelers from all over the world.
And I'd be also happy to meet the next couch surfer while I'm visiting new places.
I'm new in CS, but in my flat in Oulu (Finland), we already had many couch surfers so I experienced already the CS life in somehow. It was really nice to have guests and share some interesting talks and delicious dinner.
Some of them came to our place even twice, so I guess they had a good time with us!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Have you ever heard about the ice-hole swimming? Well, if you're Finnish, is definitely something familiar... But for an italian like me, it has been something similar to an heroic gesture! And yes, I did it! :)
Moreover, in my veterinarian experience, I had the opportunity to collaborate for a while in a zoo in the US, doing procedures in kangaroos, tapirs, lions and elephants. It was amazing!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm Italian, and my family always taught me that food is something you'll never deny to your hosts!
I also love cooking and learn new traditional recipes.. so you'll be very welcome to teach me anything about food.
Depending on the evening, I would be also very happy to have a beer and maybe play cards or some games together.
