Overview
About Me
My name is Barbara, I'm 28 years old and I live in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. I am a journalist, public relations by profession and traveler by passion. In 2017 I left my job to find a way with more purpose, I decided that this would be my Gap Year, opportunity to know me better and why not know the world too? This year I have been in 8 countries on the other side of the world (Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Indonesia, India and Nepal). Now it is the turn of Latin America, in a backpacker style, I will travel to Argentina, Uruguay and come back to explore Brazil (after all, how to know the world without knowing your own country). I am very communicative and I love to know more about the local culture and how people live in real life from day to day. I love talking about my country too. I'm in love with Brazil.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Despite having the account since 2013, I have never used couchsurfing, although I have always so much curiosity and interest. I'm here because I want to connect with people and with a real life of places that I will go from now on. Cultural exchange is very important to me. I want to know new points of view, ways of living, places to go. Plus, it's a chance to make friends and save money.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am very eclectic for music and movies. I like a iversifed types of music, including Brazilian and Latin musics, pop and rock . I am also interested in movies based on real stories, drama and romance. I'm a Netflix fan and I love spend a lot of time watching TV series.
For books, as much as I can read. I do not have a favorite type of stories, I like those who hold my attention and allowed me to read them in a few days. My last books was Do For Love, about volunteer work in Asia, and "Jailers", about the jail system in my country. Both were written by Brazilians.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This is a difficult question. I think my recent backpacking to Asia was one of the most challenging things I've ever done. Traveling to the other side of the world, facing a new culture and customs completely different from yours, make you understand how the world is gigantic and how small you are in the face of the greatness of life. It makes you empath. It takes courage, a little madness and a lot of detachment, but it is an unforgettable experience.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I think the best I can offer is my company, respect and some help with the housework. In addition, tips about Brazil and the couch of my home in the future.
