Hi! My name is Barbora but I prefer Barbara. At the moment I am starting a new job in Amsterdam as a data analyst in real estate company. I did my master's of Finance and Real Estate Finance in Amsterdam. I like to keep me busy - I also work in the mexican restaurant as a waitress. In my free time I love to dance (latin music), spend time with my friends, travel, party, read books and languages. I learnt that everything is possible and there is always time for your passions.

My passion is dancing and travelling. I have been dancing since 6 years old and it will be always important part of my life. I started as a small ballet dancer, I continued with little bit of hiphop or street dance, I tried contemporary dancing while studying abroad and I had been dancing ballroom dance competitively in a formation and pairs (waltz, tango, chacha, rumba...). Later, I started to dance salsa and bachata and I participated in Amsterdam International Salsa Festival where we (me and my dancing partner) participated in a startgate competition. While I was living in Mexico, I spent basically most of my free time dancing salsa and bachata. I had the time of my life. I danced in a dancing school and I attended many sociales.

Travelling is another chapter. When I was at high school, it was my dream to discover different European countries. My first big step was working as an aupair in England during the summer. Since then, I started to be obsessed with learning about new cultures and seeing new places. Therefore, I went abroad for an exchange to France and it was the time of my life. I met so many people from different nationalities and I realized that I can have whatever I want in my life if I just decide and work on it.

It motivated me to apply for my master's in Amsterdam where I spent one year and half. Besides that, I travelled to Sri Lanka and Thailand with my close czech friends and it was amazing! I would like to recommended these places and I definitely need to come back!

Year 2018 was so amazing and I explored so many new places! In January, I went to study abroad to the US. It was a big deal for me because when I was younger I could not imagine visiting United States and then it happened. In the beginning, I spent lovely week in New York City and during my spring break I had a chance to go to Montreal, Niagara Falls, Toronto and Chicago. When the semester was over I went to Boston and I did a four week road trip starting from Vancouver through California and we ended up in Las Vegas.

My last adventure was Mexico. I have to say that it was a life changing experience. I did a six week voluntary job in Queretaro with Aiesec. I totally fell in love with this country. It offers so many things. The weather was always sunny, I tried delicious food, I lived with a mexican family, I travelled to different places (Pena de Bernal, San Miguel de Allende, Puerta Vallarta, Cancun, Mexico City, Guanajuato..), I visited my friends, I made a lot of new great friendships, I learned some spanish and I danced A LOT. I had such a great time there that I am already planning when I can come back.

Dlaczego jestem na Couchsurfing

I tried couchsurfing for the first time in London when I was 17 years old - alone in a new city. Someone told me about this webpage and it seemed to me as a perfect way to explore the city with someone local and perfect way to meet new people. My experience was so great that I decided to try it again when I was travelling in Europe. Thanks to couchsurfing, I made a great friends and I still keep in touch with them!

I like the idea a lot! You never know you is waiting for you. Great way how to share the culture and meet new people!

My last couchsurfing experience was in the US while doing a road trip and we met so many amazing people!

I did a six week voluntary job in Mexico on my own. I ended up my trip by spending five days in Cancun travelling alone and it was a big experience.
