About Me

My husband Pat and I have three grown children, the oldest of whom told us about couch surfing. We like the idea of hospitality -- opening up a space at the table for the unknown visitor. We're socially liberal and accepting of different lifestyles, religions, points-of-view, and political opinions. LGBT friendly. We are certainly not the best source of information for all the cool spots and bars to hang out, but you'll find good conversation, friendly faces, a nice place to rest your head at night, and a full pantry. And pie, usually pie. A stay here is probably like visiting your parents minus the intrusive questions about your life path and where your latest relationship is going. Bonus: Mom hugs available upon request.

(Sorry, to have to say this here, but we can't host guests who don't have a fairly complete profile, have no references and/or aren't verified. Posting a picture of yourself and where you are going doesn't count. We love the philosophy of sharing, but everyone needs to prove in some way that they are who they say they are, and that they are safe. If you haven't done at least one of those things-- write a complete profile; couch-surfed before with references; or gotten verified -- I won't respond to your request.)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We like people.

Interests

We are interested a moderate bit in a lot of things, and quite interested in a few things. We love to hear about what interests other people: people are pretty fascinating and seeing the world from other perspectives is eye-opening.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We've had lots of experiences which have been deeply enriching, rewarding and enlightening. Even small acts of kindness in a world racked by division can be pretty inspirational. Don't make it more complicated than it needs to be: be kind.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, England, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Scotland, Virgin Islands, British
