I'm a 22 year old guy from The Netherlands. I'm currently in between studies, but I hope to enroll in an MA in Philosophy come September. In the meantime, I'm working some odd jobs-- I'd love to go out and travel!

I'm inquisitive, and like to learn. I'm at once amazed and terrified of what human beings are capable of, but strongly believe that there is something like "the good" in everyone. One of my reasons for wanting to travel is connecting with people from different backgrounds. Another is to see the sights far from home-- a different environment to stimulate new thoughts and ideas (or shed light on existing ones).

My dream is to travel overland from my hometown of Tilburg to Tehran.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm curious to learn, always open to new things, to re-think things, and I hope to experience many new things in life. Travel is one way, reading is another ;). And who knows-- sometime I may know myself well enough to write up a personal philosophy here.

I'm currently on here because I plan to hitchhike in the direction of Istanbul-- who knows when this website might come in handy. I intend to return the favour by hosting other travelers in due course, but am currently not in a position to do so.

I'd like to learn from other cultures, and I'd like to learn a creative profession/skill like woodcarving or carpentry. I'd like to learn how to enjoy life. (One of my favorite scenes in cinematic history is the one where Zorba the Greek teaches Basil to dance).
