About Me

Caregiver from New England, spent the last several years helping one family or another through crisis, or organizing my life around never ending work calls, and spontaneous assignments. Updating Couchsurfing for a road trip I’m taking from New England, through Tennessee , down the Mississippi to New Orleans and back up the coast. I spend my few "quiet" moments watching trashy and / or top notch Reality Tv, Documentaries and Docuseries from countries across the pond Pacific, and beyond. My goal everywhere I go is to find something I wasn't looking for............. and check out the local commercial fishing docks. Looking forward to smelling the roses again :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Provide information for those who find themselves in my area, and searching for those who can educate me on where i'm traveling to. Sometimes looking for a host based on my travel needs and if it’s a god fit. I’m in a rental that doesn’t allow guests at this time (liability issue / privacy issue for the landlord), home to host in the future.

Interests

Fishing, Rowing/Paddling anything that floats, Collecting coastline treasures, Linguistics, Film, Travel of course!

Music, Movies, and Books

A little bit of everything. I grew up on '70s and '80s classic rock, have a soft spot for the nostalgia of summer top ten hits from TRL, and tend towards Jeff Buckley, Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros, and 70's folk now. Saw this great NatGeo documentary lately on Neopolitan Pickpockets (Check out Pickpocket King Bob Arno on youtube), Photography Books, offbeat travel books, and primary resource reads like Edie: (Sedgewick), and Voices of Film Experience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seen: The incredible connections you can make in just moments.
Hollywood: I once made friends with a Jewish woman on the bus between N. La Cienega Blvd and N. La Brea in West Hollywood. I helped her with her bag as she sat down and before I knew it she had shown me the numbers on her arm, decided I was getting off with her even though I wasn't lost, and she was going to walk me to my intersection - pushing a piece of cake into my hands. I'll remember her forever.
Bari, Italy: Soul connections with the local fishermen, No words, just looks and hand gestures; showing me their catch like its their newborn baby.
Istanbul, Turkey: Impromptu conferences on the Lobster industry in Turkey v.s. North America ; happening along bulkhead where the Marmara Sea meets the Bosporus and spending the late afternoon drinking Chai and sharing stories with the transient fisherman who sell lures along the water.
