About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission in life is to can as much experience as possible through work, travel, school and play. I have one opportunity at life and I plan on making the most of it.
ABOUT ME
I am 25 years and I am a high school History and Geography teacher but what I enjoy teaching most is Outdoor Ed. I have a love of learning and am generally open to any topic of conversation and most experiences. I enjoy meeting new people especially those who are different from myself. I am an avid outdoorsy individual and enjoy my summers in the Canadian Bush fighting forest fires for the Ministry of Natural Resources. In my spare time I occupy myself by hanging out with friends, traveling, playing hockey, snowboarding, reading, playing NHL 12, and as of recently surfing.
PHILOSOPHY
Life without risk is nothing!
You can't take fame, or fortune with you when you die. All you have with you on your death bed is your closest friends and family and the peace of mind knowing whether or not you made the most of your life. It is at this point when what is really important in life is revealed.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I will participate as a surfer at the moment, however, once I get established with a place when i return home I will be happy to host.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have never participated in couchsurfing before. The closest comparison I can make was when I picked up a hitch-hiker in Nelson British Columbia and ended up spending the next week travelling around B.C with him. The randomness of the whole situation along with the unexpected company was my favourite part of this experience.
Interests
I am very interested in World Water Issues. I am currently traveling with a water filter in my attempt to avoid purchasing bottled water throughout my trip. For the first half of this trip, I was making a movie advertising the filter technology as well as a charity I am apart of and a member of the Board of Directors.
I am a trained experiential educator meaning I am all about putting myself into new situations. Perhaps this is why I am addicted to traveling. It is so multi-sensory smelling new scents, tasting new food, seeing new things, talking in different languages etc.

Band of Brothers, Batman Begins, Mystery Alaska, The Hangover - The Tragically Hip, Pink Floyd, The Who, Led Zepplin.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
At the age of 16 I successfully completed a Guiness Book of World Record attempt as the youngest non professional skater to complete a backflip on ice - there is a story behind this if your at all interested I would be more than willing to elaborate.
- More recently I am currently on a roadtrip of a lifetime (hence my desire to utilize couch surfing to safe some coin). I just drove across Canada and am spending some time in Tofino enjoying the west coast bum/ surfer lifestyle - it has been an adventure of a lifetime.
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy teaching and sharing knowledge almost as much as I enjoy learning. Between my travels and other life experiences which include military service, tree planting, fire fighting, teaching, traveling and a childhood as a competitive athlete I have been blessed with lots experiences that I draw upon when trying to find common ground and conversation material with people I have just met. I am interested in any sort of new knowledge I can learn from new individuals, however I have a new interest in particular for spirituality related content, travel tips, and the sharing of travel stories are always nice as well.
