COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started my couchsurfing experience in 2017 and have both hosted and being a hostee at different regions! Through couchsurfing I met a lot of people in Cuba and it was one of the most amazing traveling experience I had. Also made many friends in Costa Rica, France, Mexico thorugh couchsuring there!

I have a natural curiosity towards everything in this world

I am in some way a biology geek as I have an obsession with plants and animals and have an unusual habit of raising peculiar pets ranging from the cutes ones like succulent plants and hamsters to more intolerable ones, mosquitoes and cockroaches. I spent a lot of time observing them and the tangible biological world, feeling excited and intoxicated.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I took a photo of a black bear on a mountain trail of Colorado. I was about ten steps away from this black bear and the moment after I took this photo, I stepped back quietly and hide behind a rock to maintain respect to its territory.

I built a mobile sensor to detect air pollution and share data with people in my city. I obtained crowd-sourcing data from citizens who use the smartphone-sensors I built and created the color-graded PM2.5 distribution graph of my city Changsha.

I also worked on the project “Map of Life” at Yale, which is an interactive map displaying all wildlife distribution data on earth and allow people to report sightings of wildlife.
