One time when I was living in South America I lost my job and ended up homeless in the streets. Living among street rats, no money to eat, doing whatever we had to do to survive. 'Westerners' have no idea how easy our lives are. We have a responsibility that comes with the disproportionate slice of opportunity. And talk is cheap.

There's an awesome job opportunity for the adventure fanatic in 'wilderness therapy'. You typically work for a week, they hand you a paycheque and you have a week completely off with no ties to go have fun and adventure and travel. You can even go abroad just by taking a week (=3 weeks) off and still maintain an income. It's about helping kids at a pivotal moment in their life to get their s*** together. There are programs like this all over the country if you look.
