I don't take life too seriously. I'm pretty sociable and love meeting other travellers and sharing stories. I'm an incurable romantic and often get confused between fact and ficton when it comes to life. The perils of watching too many movies combined with a lust for escapism and adventure...

Interests

I'm happiest on the move but I also love cycling (which I guess also puts me on the move!).
I run overland adventure tours with old school buses for the budget traveller and spend many hours planning out new trips through weird and wonderful routes - some that never materialise but many more that do! Logistics is one of my strengths and the planning is almost as fun as the journey itself...almost;)
I'm also an EFL Teacher so tend to move around a lot exploring different cultures.
..and last but by no means least - I'm a pretty big movie fan and can spend hours discussing them when the travels stories run dry!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taking the fabled Trans-Siberian train from Moscow to Lake Baikal with my wife and 15 month old daughter who learnt to walk on the train.
Driving a 20 year old bus to Mongolia from England was pretty memorable - particularly being surrounded by hordes of drunken teenagers in the depths of Siberia - all seemingly looking for trouble - wrong camp spot!!
Crossing the land border into Nigeria from Benin. It was like entering a war zone with no explosions - just fear and menace in the air... spooky.
A 2 hour sauna in the countryside of Estonia with my beautiful girlfriend (now my wife) after a 20km bike ride in -1c on a Baltic January afternoon - a bottle of Vana Tallinn made this absolute heaven and the perfect end to a very memorable day!
