About Me

I am a 25 year old student living, studying, and working in Heidelberg, Germany. I'll be here (at least) until September 2017. I love to travel, meet people, learn about cultures and languages, read and write, and hold very deep conversations. I'm not sure what I'll do after I Finish my Regress--probably try to teach English somewhere in Europe or Asia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm really excited by the prospect of traveling and interacting with locals. The tourist-y sights are great, but I am interested in getting an "insider's" perspective. I am thirsty for advanture!

Music, Movies, and Books

I really like Reggae, Folk, Blues, Rock, and Jazz. Right now I am listening to a lot of Mandoline Orange, Foster the People and John Brown's Body.

Hard to pick a favorite movie, but I love Pulp Fiction, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and Being-in-the-World--an eclectic combination, now that I think of it.

Books...ah, too many that are wonderful to narrow down a favorite, but when I travel I generally want one (or all three) of the following: 100 Years of Solitude (Gabriel Garcia Marquez), Die fröhliche Wissenschaft (Friedrich Nietzsche), Metamorphoses (Ovid).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did the Heimlich maneuver on an oldtimer while he was choking during a meal in May of 2016. I'd like to think someone else would have jumped in had I not been there, but it just so happened that I was first to respond. Anyway, it wasn't until later that night that it occured to me just how significant of a moment that was.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I study English and love to teach it!! I'm also quite handy with manual labor (e.g., yardwork, household things, etc.).

Countries I’ve Visited
