About Me
Citizen of the universe! Opening our home to visitors from all corners of the galaxy! Aliens are welcome!
CURRENT MISSION:
Loose 22kg and get back in shape to discover the awesome mountain biking trails of the UAE and Oman and go zip lining (16kg to go)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Fairly recent on CS (2019) but not new to the concept. Mainly keen on hosting and showing people around Dubai and the rest of the UAE, living in Dubai being part of an international family with relatives in Belgium, Bulgaria and Malta, our personal travel schedule is mostly focused around family visits, with limited options to discover new territory ourselves. Working hard however to change that...
Want to open the doors of our house to meet new people and to guide them around Dubai. Keen to share stories and learn about everyone's adventures as well as talking about life and love without prejudice.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Stupid things I have done while travelling:
- Breaking my left elbow in Gran Canaria in a super complex fracture during my FIRST (and probably last) ever mountain biking holiday
- Driving from Belgium to Zurich for a concert of an EBM band that turned out to be Belgian and had an upcoming concert weeks later in Belgium - road trip!
- Getting stuck in a narrow canyon during a trip in Spain because my legs were just TOO long
Many more stories like that, to be honest, the most amazing thing is meeting people and sharing stories!
Teach, Learn, Share
As a teenager was a big fan of pen palling (snail mail) and once I started working and had regular access to the internet and emails moved on to e-palling. Surprisingly enough not a big fan of Facebook, nor Instagram, nor Twitter. I like WhatsApp though :)
What you can expect from me? I am a very open-minded person that is truly interested in other people, a good listener, that can easily adjust to changing circumstances and that is willing to make people feel at home and guide/plan a trip that is non-mainstream and tailored to the wishes and dreams of those that visit.
To learn my views on life and our existence - please watch the closing scene of the first MIB movie, that more or less sums it up!
I am a natural mentor style situational leader - so feel free to pick my brain when you meet me!
My motto: 'Don't do what I do, don't live how I live, but take your time to listen to what I have to say and pick out the things you find useful to create your own world.'
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am not very good with big crowds, I like intimate, cozy venues and settings that allow for a more personal interaction. I am very good at talking about everything and nothing, I also love to cook and keen to share my favourite recipes.
