About Me

Hi there, I'm Bart!

Programmer by day, boardgaming/computer geek by night, owner of little, hyperactive dog 24h/day.

I'm living with my boyfriend in our apartment. We are both really calm, not a party animals (well, maybe party pandas), but we love to talk and listen about interesting things from many fields - biology, gamification, physics, popculture, philosophy, IT, literature, games (m taking care of my small herb garden.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet people and know more about the world - by listening stories of guests in our house, or by meeting local residents during our journeys abroad. Meeting people from outside of your local work-friends-family bubble teaches a lot about respect, culture, different points of view, and empathy.

And no one is better in showing you best local restaurants than a local!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: electronic music, often scandinavian (The Knife, IAMAMIWHOAMI, Royksopp), some alternative pearls (Chinawoman m extremely picky about them. Horror needs to have great atmosphere and tension, not a lot of blood and stupid jumpscenes. Favorite ones: Babadook, The Company of Wolves, Cthulhu.
Books: Anything written by H.P. Lovecraft or J. Dukaj.I really like well written horror/science-fiction/fantasy, without naive escapism. Other then that I love J. McGonigall and her works about gamified reality.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For 6 years now I am organizing local boardgaming meetings here in Szczecin.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some interesting stories about my country. Some basic help with your PC ;) Also cooking is always a pleasure, so we can try to cook something together! I make terrific stuffing for pierogi, and it tastes great wrapped inside a pancake. Making dough for pierogi takes too much time :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Czech Republic, Germany, Norway

Countries I’ve Lived In

Poland
