About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Go on a biking trip through Western Europe.

ABOUT ME

If you ever thought, you already met someone absolutely open to try out everything... think again! The people I meet and opportunities I encounter are what keeps me going. I love challenging myself, overcoming my own limitations and helping people around to improve and try themselves.

I was able to grow up in a home that allowed me to explore and be curious. I was lucky to find people who shared the same passion. And I have the guts to keep on doing it!

PHILOSOPHY

"Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face" Mike Tyson

... and that is exacty the point when change happens. I embrace the change, I look into future and I want to make the best of the gifts life brings me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, I was only a surfer. I am willing to change that to be a host with the next opportunity to lend someone my couch/bed/floor/balcony/bathtub/whatever works for you.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The first I heard about couchsurfing it was 6 years ago, in Turkey, where I traveled to many places.
Since then, I was able to travel to Spain, and along with my friends back in Poland I hosted a guy from Austria.
Afterwards I got to travel on my own to Sweden, where I met many wonderful people I could surf with. On my return to Spain to my home at the time, for Christmas I hosted a couple that traveled way more countries than the years I lived. It was wonderful to hear their stories. And this is what I look forward to.

Interests

Psychology - this is what I love
Music - I mostly listen to rock. However, I started off as a hardcore metal fan ;). Also, recently I discovered I very much enjoy classic music and jazz Writing - this is something I cannot possibly imagine living without; most of my work has been done in Polish, but recently I started writing in English, too
Books - growing up with language teacher had its bad and good sides, but right now there are only the good ones - I apreciate a well written story, whether it is shallow or very deep
Quantum physics - my hobby I like to indulge myself in from time to time, just to consider how it is like to live in a 11-deminsional universe, where nothing can be predicted, apart from enthropy, that is constantly growing
Cooking - Food gives you energy, energy gives you focus, and focus allows you to find the food you prepared by yourself even better
Good alcohol and coffee - I started drinking both beverages during my studies and I found out it is a great way to spend some wonderful times with both friends and complete strangers. I am always open to try out local alcohols and I even make my own, fruit-flavored vodka's when possible ;)
Dance - for the past couple of months I discovered the beauty of dancing. Started with zumba, moved to bachata and I am open to learn and practice more!

Music, Movies, and Books

Most recently, I apreciate the books of Norwegian criminal and thriller autohor, Jo Nesbo. Pratchett, Coelho, Tolkien, Grzędowski, Lem, Kapuściński are also authors whose works I always find entertaining and allowing me to learn from their stories.
Apart from that, I enjoy reading scientific research connected with psychology, especially from the field of positive psychology, job opportunities, teaching methods.
My favorite movie is "Beautiful Mind". I watched at least 20 times and I believe there is still more to come.
As for music - rock, classic, jazz are the ones I like to listen. I do not mind going to a club, but I ratcher prefer to go to a cafe or pub with that kind of setup.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen the beautiful lakes of Pamukkale in Turkey.
I went to Andorra to the highest peak of that country, Pic de Coma Pedrosa. Although I did not get it, I am proud that I did it with my own strengths and limitations.
I saw the contrast of Beirut, before the current war, where one side of the building could be a modern, renovated HSBC Bank, and the same part could have a bomb shell that blasted away a balcony; where you could pass a Rolex clocktower in the middle of a square filled with Porsche's and Ferrari's, and when you would turn to the less attended path, you could see bullet holes in the walls.
But most importantly, I've seen people cry and people who tried to bring back joy to them. There is nothing more powerful than to see people care for each other, no matter what happened or whatever comes next.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you my language.
I can show you ways of how to find solutions for whatever life throws at you.
And I can help you out with ANYTHING you are up to right now - I do great as idea sower.

I want to learn about You - how you live, how you look at world, what drives you and what kind of meaning do you look for in your life.
