hello, my name is bas. i have been a traveler for many years and i can't see that changing any time soon. i have a great job where i have to be only about 7 months a year so i have 5 months free for traveling and fun things. i like going to couch surf meetings sometimes but i never actualy tried it myself until the trip i just got back from. its a lot of fun and i will try it some more on my next trip coming november. i just got home today after 3 months on the road so for the coming months i could host myself if i am not too busy with work.

just trying it out. in some countries its hard to meet people that can show you the good places so this is a good way for sure. here i live close to a big lake and a beautiful old fisherman's town. it would be fun to show other travelers that want to see the netherlands but don't know any other place to go besides amsterdam. check google images for the city Enkhuizen to see what to expect when you come here. i live in bovenkarspel, a village next to it.
