About Me

Born in the Netherlands, toddler in Nigeria and raised in Scotland. My childhood was filled with adventure and travel due to the wanderlust of my parents. After 14 years in Scotland I returned to my birthplace, the Netherlands where I lived in Haarlem for a couple of years before starting Civil Engineering at the Technical University Delft. I live with my 4 best friends in a nice house in the centre of Delft.

My goal in life is to inspire others to get most out of life by inspiring them with my own life. That means I like to live healthy, move, think and talk a lot. I really like sports and am active in surfing, rowing, triathlons and weightlifting. Furthermore I like to work with my hands meaning I like to bake bread, repair bicycles and woodworking.

My friends call me ambitious, efficient, a dreamer, venturous and always tell me to sit down and do nothing haha. I am obsessed with setting myself impossible challenges and then just do it!
That is my life motto: "JUST DO IT"

Challenges I have set myself are to run the marathon du sable, an Ironman and climb the mont Blanc before my 25th birthday. I try to achieve these goals by setting smaller goals which I can achieve everyday haha. I think that setting challenges that scare you just by setting them are the challenges that you need to achieve.

Furthermore I am a vegetarian trying to be vegan haha, but some things are just too good ! I think sustainable living is important and I try to have a positive impact on this world by setting examples. That doesn't mean I only talk about vegan stuff or anything like that haha, I even cook meat. I just choose to not eat it myself.

I am not a heavy drinker but like to party with friends and go out and do active, fun stuff. When friends come over I like to take them to Den Haag, show them the city, historical sites and then go for a quick surf before a nice dutch sunset. Also showing people towns on bikes is an ideal way to quickly get a feeling of dutch cities and the flat countryside.

After all the things I do I also have the need to sometimes withdraw myself from busy places and just "tidy" my room. It is for me a place to relax and just be with myself and reset my mind. I always set out to clean it quickly, but always loose myself when I find something interesting which I thought I lost haha.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really like people who inspire me, by challenging my thoughts, do completely other things and therefore let me look at the world differently.

After hearing great stories from friends I thought it was a perfect method to meet new people from all over the world, who look at the world differently than I do and therefore broaden my mind. I think the best ways we can have peace in this world is really by getting to know each other. Couchsurfing is for me a great way to get to know the world !!
