Hi I am Bas From The Netherlands.
I study Biology in Den Bosch in The Netherlands and at the moment I am living in Iceland for an internship. I grew up in Middelburg in the south west of the Netherlands and I spend most of my childhood on or around the beach, possibly that is where the love for swimming, snorkling, diving and fish comes from. Altough I must add that I do like everything involed with animals and nature.

In my free time I enjoy being outside, walking trought a forest, playing guitar or ukulele (rather badly I might add), skateboarding, muay thai, parkour, traveling, hiking, listening to music and going to festivals. During my time in Iceland I found my love for mountain climbing, but since Holland is rather flat this will be a short lived interst...

I always try to be happy and enthusiastic about everything and I am always up for new stuff so my list of intersts is still expanding!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to help and meet new people in any way possible. The opportunity to meet new people in a city I do not know and learn new stuff is really exciting to me.

Interests

As I mentioned before I have a broad scala of interests and it is still expanding, but music, nature, hiking, camping, traveling, kickboxing, skateboarding, parkour, movies. etc. etc. etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in music is like the weather in Iceland. It chances every 5 minutes. My playlists usually include a lot of punk (and all its varities), indie, classic rock, old school hip hop, pink floyd, reggea, folk and Abba.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been woken up by a glacier while camping right next to Vatnajökull in Iceland. During the night, with a loud crack, a huge piece of ice broke off and fell into the glacier lagoon.

I am a great hand farter and I am willing to take on some students.
I am interested in everything so I would like to learn whatever you have to offer!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can make a decent dutch student meal. (something I like to call rice suprise). I also know a great game that just needs 6 dices to play and I always travel with those.
