About Me

Ill gladly host you! But please no requests more than 10 days in advance!

After having finished my bachelor in bioinformatics and worked/traveled around a fair bit I'm now a data scientist (basically a computer nerd 🤓)

I've done one longer trip from the end of July 2016 until July 2017, and I traveled to Indonesia, Malaysia which I found quite expensive, someone told me that Nepal was way cheaper, so the next morning I booked a ticket to Nepal for the next week, stayed there 2.5 months and went to India for a month and a half. Having gotten the great feeling of going off the beaten track and traveling cheap, I kept traveling the cheap way throughout the Philippines, Taiwan, Vietnam and Iran, with a short trip to North Korea in between.

The main reason I love traveling is not only meeting people, learning about other cultures but also learning about myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to meet fellow, like-minded travelers and make new, interesting friends

Interests

I love the ocean, ever since I first laid my eyes on her. Twelve years ago I started scuba diving, Seven years ago I picked surfing, three years ago I started freediving and as soon as I enter the ocean, whether with a surfboard or just in my shorts I become completely relaxed.

When I'm at home I love walks on the nearby (riverside) beach, meeting friends, making new friends and watching series.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: almost anything, love science fiction. But I think one of my favourite movies is Aftershock, a chinese drama which actually didn't leave my eyes dry.
Music: love music with relaxing voices, from anything like Johnny Cash to deephouse/tropical house
Books: recently picked up my childhood passion and started reading again. My favorite book is A new earth, by Eckhart Tolle

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On a 21-day hike to mount Everest I managed to be on top of a rockslide next to mount Everest, definitely one of the scariest moments of my life!

Seen bodies being burnt in the holy city of Varanasi, India.

I've been attacked by a ram with huuuge horns!

When scuba diving, in a joint team effort with a dive master we saved my buddies life.

Etc.. Etc..
