ABOUT ME

Wow.. it's been a long time since I've been here!
Time to update this thing...

As you can see, I'm a 30 years old guy living in the lovely city of Ghent. Working as a family counselour during the week and (from time to time) playing some records in the weekends.

I like to believe people would discribe me as an easy-going, fun guy with just the right amount of integrity :)

At the moment, I'm looking to buy myself a small house in the city. So, I'm not sure wether I'll be able to host people the coming months as I'll probably be in the middle of reconstructions.. But, feel free to contact me and ask anyway!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted some nice people from Letvia some years ago, showed them around town etc..
Went couchsurfing in Berlin with a friend of mine, stayed at two flats and met some great people from very different parts of the world!

兴趣

MUSIC! I just love it.. ;-) There are a bunch of styles I like, but after exploring most of them, I ended up with a preference for house- (& some techno) music. I'm a DJ (check out www.soundcloud.com/darenletho for some mixes), occasional event-organisor & taking my first steps into music production.

Travelling! Because of financial and physical issues (serious foot-injury), I haven't been able to see a whole lot of this world yet, but I'm working on that. Thus far I've lived in Spain for 7 months, travelled a bit around Europe & I'm planning a long trip through South-America as soon as I'm "back on my feet"! :-)

Music! lots of it and lots of different styles: anything from (post/indie)rock, some more 'loungy' trip-hop/breakbeat stuff..(well, just about everything the superb ninjatune label has to offer), reggae/african/latin (when I'm in the mood for it); some more alternative stuff (e.g. from the anticon label), and last but definitely not least: house, deep-house, tech-houseminimal, techno.. good old underground dance music!

Movies: some movies I like, some movies I love and some not so much..it depends. In general I'm not the averige "teen-movies/action/comedy"- lover, but I do enjoy a good Tarantino/Kubrick/Lynch/... movie or anything that stands out is some way (doesn't HAVE to be réally special or anyting, just not too cheap..)

Books: not nearly enough..mostly schoolbooks in the past, and still mostly work-related stuff. Or other things that interest me like filosofy, ecology, geo-political problems (and solutions!) and things like that. Not too much fiction though.

I used to be a glider pilot! Had to take a pauze from this because it was getting too expencive, but I hope to be albe to pick it back up in a few years..
"glider pilots don't waste fuel" ;-)
