I'm from the US and am currently doing my Master's in Germany. Since I'm not sure how long I'll be here, the goal is to see as much of Europe (and nearby places) as I can.

I think the best way to travel is with a local so that you can see and feel the realness of a city. The parts the magazines and guides don't tell you about. The places that only someone living there would even think of going to and the things only a local would think to do. These things are what give a city life and these things are what will allow you to better understand a place and it's people.

So, by staying with a host, I know I can have a much better experience, no matter where I go. And hopefully I can host in the future and offer the same to a fellow couch surfer :)
