ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Melanie, my friends at home call me Mela, English speaking friends call me Mel. :-)

The most special thing about me is that I have a twin sister, Katha (Katharina).

I live in Birsfelden just at the border of the Rhine. I live in a little flat with my flatmate.

What I do?
Firstly, I go to work 4 days a week, I like my work!
Fridays I'm usually off, this is great. Under the week Im very busy with work, babysitting, training floorball, meeting friends, doing household, going to the football and so on.
I am a very big football (soccer) fan of our local football club called FC Basel!! I always stand in the fancurve and support my team. Sometimes I even support them at the away games. The most crazy away game I attended was in Reykjavik, Iceland in 2009. FC Basel played there an UEFA Cup game. I love those trips!!! :-)
I also love to travel, especially to Australia, I just love this amazing country!!!!

I do almost everything together with my twin sister, also of course the traveling!

I love the idea of sharing your home and show the guests the nice spots of your hometown!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was not on CS that time but it still little bit like couchsurfing:
My sis and me were on a football trip in Nuremburg where there was the Confederations Cup in 2005 and the Socceroos were playing Argentina. After the game at midnight in our pension I met a Socceroos fan in the corridor. He was on a European trip. So, 6 weeks later he stayed in our house for about 10 days cause he would have loved to see Switzerland as well. We are still having good contact. :-)

I would like to also mention that I am NOT interested into parties (disco and stuff) and beer, I'm just not a big party guy, I'd rather stay at home or at a friends place than going out. It's not that I never go out but I dont need discos....

Música, películas y libros

Music: I mainly listen to radio.
Movies: mainly girly movies.... or sometimes action or comedy....
Books: I actually never read. If I do: (auto)biographies. I usually read the paper, though.

Algo increíble que he hecho

While I was in Australia, I got to see dolphins swimming and jumping at an area where there are rarely dolphins. It was really amazing!

I like to teach foreign people the most special Swiss word: Chuchichäschtli =D

I would like to learn Aussie slang :-P
