About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Find understanding for many of life's questions, then stand under and support the answers to assist others on the path.

ABOUT ME

Lover of people, seeker, life student, gardener of roses, and other living things. My students are my art and inspiration. The world is my garden. I have lived in Utica, New York, as a child, surrounded by nature, went to college in Buffalo N.Y., city where many of my Polish relatives settled when they came to the U.S. at the turn of the century. After graduating, moved to California and this became my home pretty much for most of my adult life, primarily all over Southern California, with a year lived in Maui, Saratoga Springs, N.Y., two years in Manitou Springs, Colorado, a summer in Mendocino County, another year in Kaua'i. I've traveled to Holland, Belgium, France, Spain Morocco, and left my heart in England, Wales, and Ireland. I'm looking forward to returning this summer after 34 years, with my lovely daughter Melody, who is now all grown up and ready to see some of the world. I'm always on some type of spiritual quest, looking forward to new mystical discoveries, heart to heart. I've raised four children, all good and pure souls, and stayed home for many years with them, but I haven't forgotten how to be an adventurer. I think my children are more conservative than I am. When I traveled so many people graciously welcomed me into their homes, that I'm forever thankful and changed by the network of people who hosted me before couch surfing ever was created. But what a great idea to put like minded people who care about humanity and the planet on the couch surfing website. I'm sure it helps to keep that sharing, caring, warmth alive around the world. I'm happy to join and try it both as host and surfer.

PHILOSOPHY

Love is always the answer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try to check for surfers needing a place to stay, now that I've returned from my own first couch surfing experienice. I haven't had any guests in my home yet, but now I look forward to this even more, as well as getting together with other LA area hosts and couch surfers for local LA events.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've just returned from my first couch surfing experience in Great Britain with my daughter Emilia Melody. We surfed in Bath, Cardiff, Swansea, Cirencester, Hampton Heath, London, and in Kirkcaldy, Scotland. All of our experiences staying with our hosts while couch surfing were as important, and possibly more important than what we saw traveling in and around Great Britain. I haven't had any guests in my home yet, but now I look forward to this even more, as well as getting together with other LA area hosts and couch surfers for local LA events.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movie favorite -As Dreams May Come, with Robin Williams, Favorite music -Enya.But I love most every kind of music. I guess I especially like Seat of the Soul by Gary Zukav, books by Hazrat Inayat Khan, Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan, the poetry of Rumi. Lately I've liked Erwin Laslo's Science and the Akashic Field, recently, Spiritual Intelligence, by Zohar and Marshall and The Secret Spiritual World of Children by Tobin Hart. I like the books of Thom Hartman, especially The Prophet's Way. I'm re-reading Khrishnamurti right now and loving that. What really blew my mind most recently was Suddenly Psychic, by Maureen Caudill. I've enjoyed books by Joseph Campbell and Karen Armstrong. I'm not reading much fiction these days, it's mostly about research for me in the last few years.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm a bit of a mystic in my own right, I've had some visions, at ages four, 16, and even just a few years ago.
Sometimes my dreams come true, or even pictures I draw come to pass, sometimes years after I've drawn something. I draw from the unconscious as a means to communicating with the conscious mind. I love the Blessed Virgin Mary, and have experienced miracles which I attribute to her.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have taught children ages three through high school in academic subjects. I've taught art and dance to children, given workshops on creative expression and the arts. Performed with my husband in his children's entertainment company, UB You!, scripting, co-directing, writing, choreographing shows, designing costumes, painting sets, working on children's book projects. I've taught drama for children, and Mommy and Me exercise classes. I developed my own technique for tapping the unconscious, to bring forth symbolic images into the conscious state, and a number of my drawings became part of a slide presentation for graduate students in art therapy. I'm an avid researcher into spirituality and consciousness, student of Sufism, for over 35 years. I've led some Dances of Universal Peace. I'm an ordained minister for the Universal Worship Service under the auspices of the Sufi Order International. Maybe one day, I'll have a book to write about all the research Ive been doing, but I'm about 3/4's of the way there. I'm thinking about studies at the Monroe Institute in order to become a remote viewer. I'd like to find more missing gospels, maybe go on archeological digs in Northern Africa, and find more of the words of Mary Magdaleine. I think she was the greatest of all of the apostles. I'd like to improve my ability to speak Spanish, French and Polish. I speak more Spanish than other second languages. I've written some children's stories, though I don't see myself becoming another J.K Rowlings. It's been a long time since I've painted or sculpted, for my own entertainment, or written poetry, but there is a time and season for everything, so while my children were little I studied cake decorating and had my creative outlet in preparing for birthdays. As the children got older, and needed less constant care, but when I still needed to stay close to home, I began raising roses, with much passion. I got into pet rescues. We've rescued dogs, puppies, cats, and quite a few bunnies. I'm rather expert on breatfeeding. I breasfed for 14 years continuously with my four children.
