About Me

I sing, draw, dance and love to share experiences with open minded people.

I'm all about fun and adventure and going wherever life takes me. I'm an adrenaline junkie, I don't enjoy planning too much because the best memories were spontaneous experiences. I enjoy experiencing the spontaneous flow of events that create a life full of excitement and stories. I remain ambitious when it comes to my studies and future, but I am mainly extremely passionate about singing, travelling and meeting new people wherever I am!

My ultimate goal for the next few years is to go on a trip around the world. To visit each continent and to go to the most wonderful places on earth! It isn't as hard as it sounds, I managed to visit 8 cities in 1 month on a Couchsurfing trip I took around Europe with my best friend. Hopefully, I will manage to reach my goal in a few years! I can’t wait to discover the majestic landscapes and diverse cultures of this world whilst meeting different people during my wild adventures.

PHILOSOPHY

This might sound a little cliché but hey yolo summarizes it well.. hahah.
I try to surround myself with people I can learn from, every conversation is an added value if it provides you with some extra knowledge or insight.
I generally like to live life by the moment, avoid regrets, and try to make the best of every situation... life is short!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've travelled using CS around Spain and Italy and met a lot of people and had fun adventures.I have also hosted a girl from South Korea who spent a week with my family and I. She taught me how to make Bibimpap and Bulgogi (traditional Korean dishes) and I showed her around, brought her to university with me, she met my friends and we had a great time together. I also hosted a Brazilian guy and I had a great time showing him Casablanca. We played guitar and sang together, it was a wonderful couple of days. Since then, I have offered my couch and guidance to fellow travelers who wish to visit Casablanca!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed around Spain and Italy for 1 month with my friend and it was an amazing experience. None of it was planned, even the couchsurfing experience was last minute since we just went with whatever felt right at the time. We did not know where we would end up the next night, in which city or if we would have a place to stay but it turned out to be extremely memorable. We had 8 hosts total. We had laughing fits, shared meals, stories, cultures and traditions, we were treated like queens by most and we felt at home everywhere. We shared cultures and exchanged stories and went out together. We were guided around cities and we walked the empty streets in the middle of the night with our hosts who have now become our friends. Couchsurfing is a genius invention as it allows people to share a lot of positivity. The world has become a very grim place, a lot of crime and violence, capitalism and individualism, Couchsurfing has allowed me to believe in HUMANS again. Thanks to this community, we can see the good in people, the sharing aspect; it promotes the "give and take". It is the best way to make friends all over the world through exchange and generosity.

It has allowed my friend and I to tour around 2 countries and meet different kinds of sweet and adventurous people.

I also really enjoy hosting different kinds of people. I've hosted different nationalities ranging from Korean to Brazilian. I've learned a lot from them, and greatly enjoyed showing them around and talking to them about my culture.

Interests

I absolutely love travelling and meeting new people, I've been to a quite a few cities in Europe.

I am most passionate about singing; I've been singing since the age of 11 and recording myself. Since then, I've been singing everywhere, although it took me some time to get over my shyness. I love composing songs, mainly songwriting; it's very liberating. I play a bit of piano and some guitar. I also like to illustrate the environment around me in drawings sometimes.

I require excitement in my life, whether it is in projects, a night out, or music. But one thing is for sure, I'm an adrenaline junkie, I love the thrill, exciting new sensations.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: old rock, hard rock, alternative rock, blues, jazz, soul, blues, pop.
I am a big fan of the band Evanescence and everything that is rock and hard rock (no hard metal though).

Movies: very schitzophrenic tastes :D Shutter island, Kill bill, pulp fiction, ice age... but I'm much more of a tv show person (Friends, Shameless, the office, house, big bang theory, baby daddy, modern family, lie to me, flashforward, x factor, criminal minds, how i met your mother...)

Books: 11 minutes and Veronika decides to die by Paulo Coehlo, Road to Kabul and A thousand splendid suns by Khaled Husseini

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Created a volunteer group comprised of 10 people to help people in need. We visited local public hospitals and cheered up/entertained sick children and gave them goody bags. We also visited public retirement homes as well as forgotten orphanages.

Backpacked around Spain and Italy with my friend for a month with no prior planning or places to stay. We lived day by day, took everything as it came and decided on our next destination on the go. A pretty amazingly freeing experience when you get to escape reality.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am fluent in French, English, and Moroccan Arabic so I can teach those three languages anywhere I go :)

I taught English to locals here in Morocco. I currently work as an English teacher so I'm quite experienced.

I have been working very closely with startups (working in finance, marketing and sales) for a few years now, coupled with my degree in marketing and communications, I could teach anything related to that.

I can teach beginner piano as well as vocal coaching lessons.

I can also teach the basic steps of salsa dancing.

I can share a lot about the Moroccan culture, customs, and food.

I'm an avid reader when it comes to psychology, I have taken online courses and read many articles and experiments. I love discussing psychology related topics!

I'd love to learn from people's experiences, advice on what to do and what not to do in certain places... and I'll learn anything I can from anyone who can do something and is willing to teach me!
