ABOUT ME
I find it kinda hard to fill this in as there are so many other fields that ask for the information I'd put in here.. So I guess I'll stick to some very basic facts:
I'm 26 years old and have been working for about a year by now which makes me feel even older. I work on climate and forest politics at Greenpeace. Before that I studied philosophy, economics and political sciences in Bayreuth (Germany), Sao Paulo (Brazil) and London (England).
Anything else, just ask or look around!
PHILOSOPHY
Walls that won't come down, we can decorate or climb or find some way to get around - By the great Jimmy Buffett
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I started couchsurfing while I lived and traveled in Brazil and have loved it ever since.
Unfortunately I haven't really been involved with CS for ages it seems. We hosted some couchsurfers in London over the last two years but I haven't really done much surfing myself recently. So hopefully this is about to change again..
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was really impressed by a couchsurfing exeperience I had in Brasilia. I travelled there by bus and had just 15 minutes before I had to get on the bus to find a couch. So I just sent a few random messages out (something I usually try not to do, but sometimes there is just no other way ;-) ). While I was on the bus several people texted me telling me I could stay with them and they would come and pick me up. Unfortunately, there where some "minor" problems with our bus and we arrived a few hours late. So I was really surprised that there still was someone to pick me up at the bus station when I finally got there and I thought it was the guy I was supposed to stay with. After a while we found out that this wasn't the case ;-) He had just seen my request and wanted to help me out even though he had to work that night and I couldn't stay with him. When I told him that I was gonna surf with someone he just made a few calls to find out who it was, showed me the city and dropped me off at my hosts... It was one of my first CS experiences and I was just overwhelmed by all the hospitality, someone waiting for hours just to help out a stranger!

Music, Movies, and Books
Films: big Tarantino fan
Music: That's a hard one. I just had a big moment the other day when I realized that all the music in my playlist, while really great, was also really old. So I guess I'm a little out of date.
Books: One of my big problems. I have the tendency to buy way more books than I will ever be able to read (although I've gotten much better on that recently). I would say I mostly read non-fiction, boring stuff but have just gone through a literature fury which I quite enjoyed. When it comes to that I prefer American Literature over British Literature and know shamefully little German literature (which is where I'm from..).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent quite some time hiking in England and Scotland last year. It's pretty damn nice out there. Especially Scotland. You should go. Also, it doesn't always rain.
