About Me
Hi there! I'm Basti, a 27-year-old guy living in Berlin since not so long. What I really like are good conversations - no matter which issue and in which situation. You can have them while sitting in a pub and drinking beer as well as while hiking, cooking or having a picnic in a park. I also enjoy discovering cities, understanding its structures and inhabitants as well as visiting its bars, clubs and museums.
If you have any questions, just ask. ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I stay in a hotel in a foreign city, I often have the feeling that I merely see touristical attractions - things everyone talks about. But what makes a trip unforgettable is something else: Discovering hidden places, experiencing a local's everyday life, making new friends. So I'm really curious to new experiences I will gain by Couchsurfing. :)
At the moment I'm planning a trip to San Francisco and its surrounding area, so it would be awesome if someone can provide me a nice place to stay for some days in August and September. Maybe you? ;)

Music, Movies, and Books
Phew... There's a long list of music interpreters and genres I like. What I like listening to is up to my mood. It changes from Rock to Electro, from Pop to Indie and from Folk to Swing during the day.
At the moment, I'm quite into Maya Janes Coles, Teleman and Czech Electro such as Midi Lidi for instance (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBHtMh167-o&list=PLBuu5b4gbxt8wG1mnotDa_qUO8i0lVVkp&index=269&t=0s). Besides that, I enjoy listening to Agnes Obel, ZAZ, Fionn Regan, RHCP, blink-182 and German bands like Die Ärzte or Wir sind Helden currently.
My favourite movie is definitely 'Call Me by Your Name'. Touching dialogues and scenes, impressive landscapes and wonderful music. As a contrast to this, I was quite effected by the dystopian novel '1984', which has been made into a film as well. But I also like psychological thriller and horror movies, just to mention that. :D
Except English literature and movies, I like 'In Zeiten des abnehmenden Lichts' in German.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Coping with difficult situations in a foreign country even though you can't speak the local language perfectly. It is a reassuring feeling to know that people understand you and are able to help even if you just know some basic words. In many cases it's sufficient. ;)
